What is Advance Planning?
Advance planning for a Cremation Service in New York is offered by City Funeral Service to give Manhattan Residents the option to select Cremation Services prior to passing. Decisions are easier made when not under any pressure or time constraint.
Why Plan Now?
Cremation Planning in advance is done for a variety of reasons. Often, someone entering a Nursing Home or Long Term Care Facility will be asking Medicaid to pay for this care. The person's assets are then exhausted to satisfy the requirements of the government Medicaid program, and the recipient is required by law to arrange a funeral or cremation service. We also pre arrange with many Manhattan Residents who feel this is a smart choice, and alleviates their family of having to make tough decisions. Educated consumers see the value of this, and choose to move forward with City Funeral Service as their Cremation Provider.
How does it work?
If you wish to plan in advance, complete our "Information We'll Need" form by clicking here.
Upon our receipt of this document, City Funeral Service will email, or mail a hard copy of the Pre Need Agreement, and the Pre Need Itemization of all the charges listed on our Cremation Pricing Page. Once you receive the documents from our office, simply complete each page where we indicate, and return the original, signed copies with payment to City Funeral Service. Payment will be held in an FDIC-Insured escrow account managed by The Cooperative Funeral Fund until the need for service. Once the responsible party notifies us of a passing, City Funeral Service will use a Certified Copy of the Certificate of Death to withdraw the funds, providing payment for the services we perform.
